Matthew Zajic is a lifelong resident of Ennis, Texas, and a graduate of Ennis High School. He earned his B.A. in Financial Markets and Sales from the University of Oklahoma before returning home to Ellis County to build Zajic Farms, a cattle operation he started while in college and grew into a successful farming and ranching business. In 2024, Matthew married his wife Haven, and the couple welcomed their first child later that year. Deeply connected to the community, he believes Ellis County is a great place to live, raise a family, and build a future.

Matthew is running for County Commissioner because he believes Ellis County deserves strong leadership that puts citizens first. As a fiscal conservative, he is committed to responsible budgeting, cutting wasteful spending, and ensuring tax dollars are used wisely. He supports smart development that encourages economic growth and energy projects while protecting the rural values and agricultural heritage that define the county. His goal is to keep Ellis County affordable, support local businesses, and ensure the community continues to thrive for future generations.
